At home

Hundreds of millions of people all over the world are rising up and organizing to cut the crap! This is being done in so many different ways, with virtual action becoming more and more accessible and effective as time goes on. Next time you are laying around in pajamas feeling bored or watching TV, consider choosing one of these projects to work on at the same time!

waste audit & goal setting worksheets

An activity that you can do at home, for no extra cost, is a waste audit. I have created this worksheet, which basically just gives you a place to record what you are sending to the landfill, recycling, and compost each week!

The waste audit can sound like an intense project, however it can be as simple or intense as you want to make it! Some people will sort and keep their trash for an entire week, and then catalog it at the end. Some people make a log of everything they are throwing away for a week. And if you are super busy like me, I work on it at least 2 days a week for the month.

The purpose of thinking about your waste generation is just to begin a discussion in your home about what practices you feel like you can change, and what practices you rely on to get through the day.
